Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Work with impression evidence
- Photograph evidence and scenes
- Understand techniques involving photography
- Take latent fingerprints
- Preserve and package evidence (DNA and blood evidence)
This course will delve into the general processes of the crime scene investigator and their role in the courtroom. This course is set up as a lecture with a didactic exchange and the application of all skills taught through scenario-based exercises. Students will also be introduced to the ethical, moral, and legal obligations and conduct of a crime scene investigator.
