- Students will be able to explain and demonstrate the procedures used in determining the cause of death.
- Students will be able to analyze and explain the cause of changes after death along with the investigative issues to be addressed.
- Students will be able to describe the process for identifying human remains.
- Students will be able to analyze and describe the investigative issues relating to traumatic death, blunt force injuries, gunshot wounds, asphyxia, drowning, electrical shock, lightening, traffic accidents, mass disasters, child abuse/death, and substance abuse.
- Students will be able to describe the role of the forensic ondontology.
- Students will be able to explain the autopsy and attendant procedures.

Death Investigation
01 Overview
This course examines the legal/medical investigation of death. Topics include the pathology of trauma, forensic issues relating to the investigation of death, and evidentiary factors distinguishing homicide from accidental, natural, or traumatic death. Class discussions will examine the cause, type and manner of death.
